Increasing the Economic Viability of Renewable Energy Deployment using Energy Buffering

MSc Sustainable Engineering: Chemical Processing, MSc Sustainable Engineering: Renewable Energy Systems and Environment

Solar Energy

The number of renewable energy installations has significantly increased throughout the UK as a result of the UK government's push for businesses and industries
to decarbonize their energy sources as part of the Net Zero target. Although the government provides grants and subsidies to support these regulations, the firms themselves are ultimately responsible for the projects' economic viability.

Main Objective

To increase economic viability
of sustainable projects using energy buffering.

Specific Objectives

To characterise and estimate the solar and wind resource at the representative site.

To estimate the electric demand at the site.

To simulate the suitable renewable energy system

To assess the economic viability of the system.
